EAZA Zoohorticulture Conference
8th – 11th May 2012 Hosted by Howletts & Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks
Programme Themes:
We are hoping to provide a diverse programme that will be focused around a theme for each day of the conference;
Day 1 – Conservation & Organics Day 2 – Plant use: Browse / Feed / Enrichment / Medicinal Day 3 – Overseas Projects
Call for Abstracts:
You are invited to provide abstracts for any presentations that you may be willing to give on any of the daily topics. Presentations should ideally last around 20 minutes; longer sessions are available by arrangement at the time of application.
We will also be setting aside a section of the programme for ‘News from the Zoos’ in which you are welcome to give a short (10 minute) presentation to highlight the work that has been happening in your institution over the past 12 months.

Post-Conference Workshop:
On the 12th and 13th of May Port Lympne will be hosting an EAZA Academy accredited training course entitled: Fodder Production and Management.

Following straight on from the EAZA Plant Working Group Conference and bringing together animal keepers and managers from a wide range of backgrounds, this conference will take place over 3 whole days at Port Lympne between 13th & 16th May. The programme will include guest speaker (including Professor Steven Schapiro of The University of Texas), workshops by The Shape of Enrichment’s Valerie Hare and Karen Worley, an enrichment tour of Port Lympne and Evening Safari. Sunday will have an optional enrichment tour of Howletts during the day, and an ice breaker event in the evening.
